What do you think of Pink's song "Dear Mr President"?

I do disagree on the pro-abortion and pro-gray rights part, but some of it I do agree with, mostly the parts about the war in Iraq. (I detest the war, but since we did go through with it I also believe we need to worry about getting out right instead of getting out quick.) I love the 60’s Vietnam era protest music, but that doesn’t exactly move me like “Give Peace A Chance” or “Eve of Destruction.”

Quite personally, I like the Dixie Chicks “Not Ready to Make Nice” much better, and as far as a flat out protest song goes check out “American Idiot” and “Holiday” by Green Day for sheer political rock perfection.

I’m surprised she didn’t add anything about how Bush is against the Mexican immagrants. Might as well just dump everything in there, regardless of whatever his positions are, nor try to understand why he comes up with his stances the way he does.

IMHO there hasn’t been a good protest song since “For what it’s Worth” by Buffalo Springfield.

It’s America, Pink can sing whatever she wants to sing. We have the right to not buy her CD’s or listen to her music.

I don’t think much of the song…it doesn’t speak to me…rather it is more personal to person she is singing about.
