What do you think of the name Jude?

Every time I’ve seen the title of this thread, the song has popped into my head, and I’m not even a huge Beatles fan.

My only concern with the name is that it sounds very feminine, or at least like it could be. As a woman with an androgenous name, I have always been hurt, annoyed, and embarrassed when I’m misgendered. As soon as I turned 18, I started using my middle name as my first to escape it.

My grandma’s name is Judy, and my grandpa would sometimes call her “Jude”, so I agree with this.

During the Holocaust, the yellow Star of David badges the Jews had to wear had ‘Jude’ on them. It’s German for ‘Jew’.
