Do you think it is possible for a 17 year old boy to be in a relationship with a 20 year old girl?

There is a girl I like, who may in fact like me as well. She doesn’t go to college, has no boyfriend, is the most caring and empathetic person I’ve ever met and looks and acts as if she should be 17 or 18.

I just might have a chance if I give it time. But with these circumstances, how much time? And how do I know if she really does like me as I like her?

Slow down a bit. For now, just be friends. Take the time to consider what you want out of life. Like, do you want to go to college? Don’t get so fixated on her that you aren’t taking care of your own life. I know it can be hard to do, but you won’t regret that. What you might regret is rushing into a relationship without a basis in friendship, and in God’s will for you.

I understand. It is best to just be friends for awhile. But I seem to lose patience with that idea.

The goal of dating should always be a time to consider, could I imagine spending the rest of my life with this person. Can this person be my best friend forever (lol, BFF). But you get the point right?

Take it slow, 3 years makes a little difference now but won’t shortly. Go out, see if you guys can become friends and possibly more.

I see no problem with it. As long as the relationship is for the purpose of deciding whether or not this person is going to become your wife, you should be fine.

Though, since you are young marriage isn’t an imminent possibility, so maybe being best friends for a while will have to suffice.

If you do get into a relationship, remember CHASTITY CHASTITY CHASTITY!

Good advice Joe, 3 years does make a little bit of a difference, but in time it won’t. I’ve been told that before. I guess it’s true. But yes, time and patience. Good and holy things grow with time and patience, like babies and vocations.

Does anyone have anything to add?
