Ummmmmmmmmm, let me thinkā¦
NO

**
**Practical items around here are bought on an as needed and if we can afford it basis, lol. A gift should be special and something would not normally spend money on, especially in a limited income situation (my opinion only). Hubby knows what would happen if he bought me a toaster or a vacuum for Christmasā¦
then there are gray areas of practicality, lol. Like, for example, purses. If my purse is falling apart and I need a new one then it falls under the āas neededā category. But if I have a perfectly good purse and want a new one to match something, THEN itās a gift. Same goes for things like hair care and make up. The basics are just bought as needed and something above and beyond can be a gift (yes, I have put a lot of thought into this, lol).
Also, I am totally fine with completely practical gifts from anyone other than my husband. If my parents want to get us a lamp or a vacuum or a power tool, great. useful and less money out of our pockets
Ok, now on to THIS Christmas:
I want hubby to come home safely and be healthy (i.e please donāt bring a cold or flu home for me and Lily!) and then I would like to win the lottery during his Christmas vacation so he doesnāt have to go back, lol. Think Santa is listening?
