Because my brother was never able to say my name properly, he always called me Sis – and though he can now (or close enough – Stedney instead of Stephanie) my niece & nephew call me Aunt Sissy or just Sissy, which pleases me just fine. My mother is known as Honey and Aunt Honey to my cousins (mostly my cousins’ children), so I think it’s cute. I call my mom Honey when I want something, because it works for them.
I guess it’s to the discretion of your sister. My name comes from what their dad calls me, they hear that and respond in kind. I like it.
Aren’t names the strangest thing? Your parents call you by your given name, and you’re in trouble. When one of my brothers (I have 5) calls me by anything other than Stephanie (like Steph) it is awkward for me, but if another brother calls me Stephanie instead of Steph, it feels the same way. Strangest thing.
