English is not my native language, I’m sorry for any misspellings.

I wonder what Docetism teaches about Jesus Christ’s death on the cross ? some told me they believed he never died and suffered, but just Jesus the flesh died ?

God bless

Per my understanding of Docetism, they deny that Christ was human at all and purely divine and that his presence on earth was merely a projection (not a real human body); some use the word phantasm. I would assume they would say that it only appeared as though Jesus suffered.

The problem with this is that if Jesus didn’t really suffer and didn’t really die, then he wasn’t really a sacrifice.

That Jesus was a ghost really, a spirit who only appeared to do the things he did.
