What does 2 Corinthians 4:10 mean?

I’m having problems witht his scripture, 2 Corinthians 4:10 “Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.”

What does this mean? I’m really in the dark? :confused:

#1 "Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus,"
I would see the “dying of the Lord Jesus” as applying not only to His death on the cross - but also to His “dying” to sin. By that I mean His refusal to do anything contrary to the Father’s will. Dying to His physical comfort and human desires. Willingness to suffer the ultimate pain in His passion in death in obedient love to the Father and out of love for us.

To bear Our Lord’s dying in our body would mean that we too should “die” to the desires of the flesh. To suffer pain rather than sin against God; to be willing to practice mortifications and penances, offering them up for the salvation of souls, offering up any pains we experience, etc.

#2 "that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body."
Our words and actions will mirror those of Our Lord.
Also, if we “die” to ourselves (as described in #1), we will experience the life of inner peace and joy that comes from being in union with God and His will - a taste of that eternal bliss of union with God in heaven. Often this interior joy shows forth in our physical presence. You can sense the joy in some people; see the peace in their face and manner. Pope John Paul II is someone who comes to my mind - but I’ve also noticed it in some “ordinary” people (non-famous).

Nita I was going to reply but after readiing your thread I could not add at all at this time.
I can only agree, well put, thank you Holy Spirit.
