That’s - the point 🤨
Ok. your point is you denounce homosexual acts. I agree. What i dont agree is mixing person and action. The Church makes a distinction between the two and says the person should be given compassion and sensitivity

Sorry…I do. I see Judas betraying Jesus.
I don’t separate Judas from his actions.

By the way I hope Liverpool beat Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday to secure the Champions League spot for next year.

Guess what BHA mascot is?

Seagulls 😂

Don’t argue with the stiff necked people.

I think if I were a teenager and a friend told me he had a boyfriend, I’d say something like, “Oooo.k., whatever.”

Ok. the man sinned terribly. Judas had a hardened heart and hanged himself. What he did was wrong.

Your telling me God would have nothing to do with him?

No mercy for the sinner?

No chance for a prodigal son moment?

Everyone was taught in CCD - it was Adam and Eve. Not Adam and Steve.

Seagull. I know that. You make it sound like that if people sin, God wont want them anymore

I find you believe that once a person is in a sinful lifestyle, they can’t be converted. I’m sure the lives of the saints show that is not the case

If you value the friendship, you keep your mouth shut and move on. If you don’t value the friendship, than say whatever you’d like.

I would have to say something. Surely you wouldn’t expect me to ignore the person? I would obviously not affirm it EVER

I was thinking about this entirely in theory when I realized something.

1: I actually do know someone with a semi-similar circumstance. She’s lesbian and it was mentioned when we met. When she asked my views, I was honest (alibi it was a bit butchered as I hadn’t been expecting it at that moment) but she’s a nice acquaintance.

2: I know a lot of people who have disagreement with Church teaching. People that are pro-choice, pro gay marriage, non-Christian, Catholics that don’t attend Mass, ECT. If I didn’t meet with these people because of sins Icd be pretty much alone. And then I’d remeber my own sins and there goes that.

The biggest thing, to me, would be to be a good witness yourself and to answer questions honestly.

I meant ignore the comment. If you want to say something, fine. I wish you the best of luck!

With all due respect, I think the lack of consideration shown in this thread is frightening.

This ignorance of the other’s situation is what turns people off of Catholicism. I have seen it far too many times. As Catholics, we are called to love these individuals with our whole being. Simply dismissing a friend who choose to disclose something personal such as this to you is beyond being a bad friend, it’s being a bad person.

Of course, you do not need to agree with this person. Someone mentioned it before - imagine the supreme witness you could give to our faith if you chose to handle the matter responsibly. Seagull, I know you don’t intend to come off as harmful, but by suggesting OP should break off a relationship because of a friend revealing a homosexual relationship by quoting Scripture isn’t right. Even if you wanted to take the road of repentance, responding to your friend’s confession as “you need to repent,” immediately, is going to distance the friend from the Church. You don’t understand the friend, what he’s been through, what his motivations are. Treating him like a brother of Christ doesn’t mean that you support how he chooses to live.
