What does a quiet spirit mean?

Does it mean being verbally quiet,or non conflictful or somethings other?

“4 but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”(ESV)
 
I think it means being verbally quiet when there is no need to speak, as well as having interior peace 🙂
 
see 1 peter 3:4. It is Peter speaking of the inner self that is not in turmoil, but more at peace in the soul, meek and accepting God/God’s will. So be at peace.
 
Im not sure because Peter seems to be directly speaking to women here?
 
I think the words of Peter could apply to everyone, man or women, esp. in our culture where the men are just as conscience(generally)of their appearances, good look looks, and charm.😃

To me it is a spirit at peace and in harmony with God’s will.

Mary comes to mind.
 
Next time you hit your husband over the head with a kitchen pot, ask him that question. He may have a few ideas. 😉
