What does catholicism has to say about the "Sun will burn the earth in billions of years" thing?

Not that this is a serious topic at all but I already answered these questions there are at least 2 hospitable planets a few light years away. The problem is traveling to them. This will not happen during your lifetime your childrens lifetime or there children’s lifetime. It is so far away in time that in reality we will probably have used all of the natural resources of the earth by then anyway. If you really want to rack your brain over this kinda stuff why not over when andromeda galaxy collides with ours that is closer in time like 6 billion years away.

I haven’t read revaluation in a while but isn’t there a lake of fire what if the earth is the “lake” . I completely made that up off the top of my head so don’t pick it apart to much. Since the sun will probably engulf the earth it could be possible.

On another note stop being such a worry wort. I’m pretty sure that there are verses in the bible that Speke against such things and when it is it is talking about stuff you can actually control like your clothes and food. God doesn’t want you worrying about something you have absolutely no control over.

Let me clarify that this is actually a serious topic. What exactly about it makes it not serious? It’s not like I chose to be worried about this, It just does worry me and alot.

Now a part of me says “Since the bible also claims that God will clean the earth, then it contradicts it being destroyed by the sun” and that calms me down a little.

Also the fact that science has been wrong many times before kinda gives me a little hope that this disaster might not happen…but since I dont see any counter arguments or other scientests trying to disprove this theory…

I almost do not even know how to come at this. Many other people have said it already but maybe a more direct approach will work better.

It is to far in the future of you to be worried about it. If scripture will not help an irrational fear our only hope is the Holy Spirit will.

No one questions the approximate number of years that the sun will end because it is based off sound theories. I can not even believe that you are questioning science about one of the least speculative things it has put out. I am not saying that God could not change something in such a case all bets are off this is all his creation.

I seriously thought you were joking. Now that I know you are not. But since you are on this path Yes God will not leave his people, he wills that none should perish. The full amount of christians will be in heaven regardless of what happen to this planet.

Since you were not on last night when I was I am going to assume that you are not losing sleep over this. Which is good because if you were you might want to seek a more professional type of help. This thread is a waist of my time. So if you want to listen to reason message me personally just not on this issue.

What If the human race is never able to travel to other galaxies? What if we dont find another hospitable solar sistem? What If Jesus hasn’t returned by then?

The human race has accomplished some astounding things in the past 10,000 years, since the age of fire.

In the 20th century, the human race did a great many “impossible” things, including commercial air flight, space satellites, telecommunications, and the Internet. I have little doubt that in such a far distant future, human beings will have discovered and invented ways to inhabit the rest of the created Universe.

Keep in mind that when the Bible refers to “the world” it’s not talking about only the planet Earth, but all of created reality.
