What does Christ being the fulfillment of the Davidic Kingdom mean for Non-Catholic Christians?

I realize that this is a rather long title, but I am hoping to make some headway into understanding Protestant exegetical thought. For the Roman Catholic Church, Christ fulfillment of the promise made to David has huge ramifications for a number of dogmatic beliefs that are not exclusive to Roman Catholicism, but definitely set her apart from the majority of the ‘Evangelical’ movement. I appreciate anyone’s (name removed by moderator)ut; however, this is mainly targeted to Non-Catholic Christians. Thanks and God bless.

I realize it is a big topic…I am not exactly sure how to make it any more specific. Maybe it is too specific. Hmm…What about this: Does David’s kingdom shed any light on the scriptural comparison of Matthew 16:18-19 and Isaiah 22? There are other questions I have about this topic, but maybe that will give a starting point. Thanks.
