Hi,
The great benefit of having contact with the people we love is, before all else, the experience of just being with them. Since the Mass is a celebration of what He endured for us on Calvary, it is the experience of witnessing His death as we see the His body being separate from His blood as demonstrated by the bread and the wine on the altar. Further, we have the privilege of yet again entering into spiritual and physical union with Him as we receive Him in the Eucharist. Besides this, we receive sanctifying grace every time we receive the Eucharist.
There is nothing that we can experience at any time in the day that can equal such an honor. It is the greatest tragedy that so few Catholics realize this. Thank you for asking the question.
