I have been reading Scott Hahn 's book “A Father Who Keeps HIs Promises”. so this has been prompting me to ponder Adam and Eve and Faith they had and there are many more questions I do have but not really pertanent to the word faith . I am also reading the compendium and learning aboout the beliefs and scripturely references it all. It is very interesting as with the catechism I am understanding the bible better.
I have also just been comparing different ideas nothing contrary just trying to get more depth on my own, such as Abel was a keeper of the flocks meaning a shepherd I guess and so was David a shepherd.
Mary has been called the new Eve and for me it gives me more understanding as Eve’s son Abel was murdered or sacrificed but I will add that Jesus will was obedient to the Father as giving his life for our salvation.
So having a faith to me means my will is of the one I have the faith in is the One God the godhead the Trinity.
My will can not be in myself as the atheist or my own ideas as I would be considered successful in the world but not in the spirit of the one true God.
I have my new Catechism and compendium and so trying to read it along with the other books and if I read it along with the book of Mormon I’m sure we would end up on disagreeing as I have alredy seen but don’t be shy as we can agree to disagree.
My compendium says that Abraham was the father of all who believe(faith) but I have just been exploring the faith of others and maybe making to many comparisons.
Eve says “God has granted me more offspring in place of Abel,” she said, “because Cain slew him.”
Isn’t this such a revelation, it is to me a very self righteous justicfying person.
Adam did not kill or hang the son that killed, he did not blame God for what happened and Eve did not blame God and had the faith to thank God for sending another. AND …it says SHE called him Seth can you see all the wonderfull things happening here.
I do believe Eve’s heart had a transformation at this point and maybe she gave much more love to this son.
Afterall God said to Adam go ahead name the animals and then he named Eve.
Further To Sth, intern, a son was born, and he names him Enosh.Gen 4;26
At that time men began to invoke the Lord by name.
This whole thing has drrawn me to considering the faith of Eve and Adam and Cain and Abel .
I think Cain did have faith as wouldn’t you think that Judas had some faith in the beginning but it was the human will that satan drew from and steals the faith. Or I shoud say deceives the faith. I appreciate everyones insights. Thanks much and I will keep me catechism open
