What does "I AM" mean?

Ex 3:13-14
“But,” said Moses to God, “when I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ if they ask me, ’ What is his name?’ what am I to tell them?”
God replied, " I am who am." Then he added, " This is what you shall tell the Israelites: I AM sent me to you."

Then, the following verse (15) says the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham…has sent me to you.

Why did God not just say Yahweh is my name? Did God try to imply that He is in everything (creator) and in everyone (made in His image and likeness?)

Today, if you asked someone, “Who said that or who told you?” and they said , “I AM did!” wouldn’t you say, “You did?”

Your question is not the correct one to ask (trying to be nice )
The question you need to ask is “What does ‘Yahweh’ or ‘YHWH’ mean?”
To that, the answer is “I AM” (capitals optional )

Have you ever noticed that in English, we don’t often say “I am”, or “you are”, or “he is” ? Well, we do, but we know that it is an answer to a question, and something has been deleted from our response, ie, “I am” is less complete than “I am going to the store later today”. So why doesn’t God have to add something to “I am” ? Your speculation is, I think, part of the answer. God does indeed actively keep everything existing, but I think that is a little different from Him being “in” everything and everyone. What I think “I AM” more fully means is that while everything in existence, including us, takes their/its existence from God, God takes His existence from nothing else. Existence is actually proper to God. He just is.
