Hello and Peace

I find alot of us here using words like Infidel and Kafir and stuff .

In Islam a word **Kafir ** means simply unbeliever

Is the word Infidel the same ? and what is the difference between Infidel and unbeliever and heretic?

Thanks

It means the same as kafir if I understand that term correctly. A heretic is a certain kind of infidel, but not all infidels are heretics.

Salam

So if i call someone Infidel is the same as calling him unbeliever? or Infidel cfarry some sort of insult in it ?

I just want to use ( if i have to ) a word that JUST means unbelief and not be any sort of Insult.

Peace

It’s not a commonly used or heard word, so I don’t know how much implication it would carry to any given individual. It’s very uncommon nowadays.

I’m not completely sure about the difference between the other two words, but “heretic” means one who subscribes to bad doctrine when they are aware it is bad doctrine.
