What does INRI on the Crucifix mean?

I recently invited my Baptist girlfriend to Mass and she asked what “INRI” stood for on the Cross. I had to meekly tell her I didn’t know. Would you please enlighten me as to it’s meaning? Thank you.
 
INRI, is the Latin abbreviation for “Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum” which means “Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews.” It was placed over Jesus’ head to refer to the charge for which he was crucified. This inscription is noted in Matthew 27:37, “And over his head they put the charge against him, which read, ‘This is Jesus the King of the Jews’”.
