Find a picture illustrating each of them, and concentrate by looking at it while praying. That’s why there are so many statues and icons in Catholic churches. It works. 🙂
👍

That’s how I teach my kids, with the pictures. Also, YouTube has some wonderful videos of the Rosary you can pray along with.

Thank you. I will continue praying and trying to pray the rosary and have patience. I will make sure to say the prayers slowly, and since I am just beginning to pray the rosary, I will pause in reciting the prayers to reflect on the mysteries. I hope God will show me incredible things. You’re been so helpful! God bless! :crossrc:
Hi komeeks,

At first it is hard to say the prayers and meditate on the mysteries because you are trying to do two things at once – learn/say the prayer and meditate. Once you learn the prayers you won’t have to think about them and it will open your mind to meditation.

One thing you might try as well when you are just starting is say the mystery, read the approriate bible verse, say the first Hail Mary and then pause for 30 seconds to think about the mystery. Say the next Hail Mary pause and repeat for the decade. That way you learn and still get to contemplate. Once you get the prayers down it will go a lot faster and require less effort.

As for the beads, it helps keep track of where you are in your prayers. It helps so you don’t have to keep track of three things (the prayers, the mysteries and how many you have said.) I also find it nice because I like to keep my eyes closed when praying the rosary, to block out any extraneous stimuli, so I can feel how far along I am in each decade. I am sure you noticed how each decade is seperated by a bead that has a larger spacing and I feel for that to when I need to go to the next mystery.

I really appreciate your advice! I will try and learn the prayers soon! 🙂
