My question is this: I have noticed that priests frequently advise people to “spend an hour before the Blessed Sacrament.” What exactly does this mean? Is this only to be done in church? Or can it mean to spend an hour before a crucifix meditating on the passion of Jesus? I would like to start doing this but am not sure exactly what it means. Thank you.

Hi,

It means what it says; spending an hour before the Blessed Sacrament in the tabernacle. Yes this means doing it in Church. Where else would the Blessed Sacrament be?

Spending an our before a crucifix at home is good too. But nothing can equal His sacramental presence.
