Rather than Anglican, Protestant etc…?

You won’t be flamed, I’d just like to hear where and how your beliefs differ or whether it was simply the religion you where “born into”

Thanks x

I have confidence in the faith I have received. It’s one of the reasons I converted (from Anglicanism). 😃

There is one God, truth matters and there is one faith founded by Christ, who wants all men to come to Him. To deny that is to deny Christ and to put man above God.

Truth is not opinion or fashion but something we change to, as we love God and should be obedient.

I left the Church and visited others but truth led me back to Catholicism. (now if only the people would live it out, including me, more would see it)

God Bless

It is the religion I was born into, and I haven’t physically left it yet. I’m not just Catholic because it’s what I was born into… but I couldn’t p(name removed by moderator)oint exactly what it means to me to be Catholic. I’m still trying to figure it out, and to realize that even within the Catholic faith there are so many differences doesn’t help. Anyway, at the moment I guess I’d say it’s a really steep, difficult climb uphill where you keep having to drop things and leave them behind because they’re weighing you down, and you keep running into puzzles that you have to stop for a very long time and try to solve before you can keep going. 😊

I was raised in a family that believed and taught that our faith is our greatest treasure.
I believe that to this day and hope to be graced with a happy death.

Thank you all so far your answers, I feel they mirror what it means to me to be Anglican…

Wow, That is a tough question.

For me, Apostolic Succession is critical. Christ instructed the Apostles to go out and proclaim his teachings and win souls.

The fulfilling of Christ’s will at the Last Supper is critical as well.
The Apostles were ordained at the Last Supper, and instructed to “do this in memory of me” .

The Catholic Church has never failed to ensure Christ’s will be carried on. Her doctrine and dogmas are in harmony with the teachings and will of our Saviour.

So to me, being a catholic is to recognize these qualities of HMC and knowing without doubt that we can achieve salvation through Her.

I was born into an anti-Catholic family and attended a series of anti-Catholic churches and schools. But for me, becoming Catholic meant joining the real Church. Not that the others are false, but they’re defective copies. They only contain some, rather than all of God’s blessings.

Becoming Catholic is also the end of my spiritual journey. I’m home! I am absolutely certain that were I to abandon the Catholic church I would be damned for it – and rightfuly so! Whereas the other churches are roughly as ‘good’ as one another, I feel that becoming Catholic, is a tremendous gift from God. It’s like going from theological quicksand to solid rock! 👍
