What does it mean when a rosary turns gold?

I have recently learned that a friend’s sister has a rosary that has turned gold. I have tried to do some research on this, however, I am still confused about what this means, when it happens, and why. Does this happen to those with very strong faith? Does this happen to someone who has been given a gift from God to touch people or spread his word, or to someone who experienced trouble or pain in life?

While God could turn a rosary chain to real gold for any reason he wishes, it is more likely that the chain has been affected by some natural process such as oxidation. I very much doubt your friend’s rosary chain is real gold but likely has taken on a golden color due to natural use and/or aging.
