Sometimes when I pray the Rosary I get emotional. Same with other prayers sometimes. Anyine else feel like that?

I rarely do that, but Its happened to me before. Im more of a weeper when i hear the Lord speak to me using other people to convey his messege to me sometimes.

I was told that crying and weeping to our Lord is a sign of strength and joy 🙂 seems totally normal

I think it means that you are truly feeling what you are praying. It’s a special moment. Don’t question it!

I often cry when praying the Sorrowful Mysteries. To imagine Our Blessed Mother seeing her Son like that…

It means you’re a person, in a relationship with your God and the communion of saints.

We all get emotional sometimes in our relationships—we laugh or cry or something moves us and makes us marvel 🙂

I often end of crying while praying, especially when I’m praying for my children. I’m reminded of the following verses - there are times when words are inadequate for prayer but the Holy Spirit knows my heart and intercedes.

Romans 8:25-27 Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (RSVCE)

25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.

26 Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with sighs too deep for words. 27 And he who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because[a] the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

I am a revert to the Catholic church, and I am glad to hear I am not the only one who gets emotional when praying. I weep a lot when I pray. The Rosary mysteries can be so moving, and I have been praying the 15 St Bridget prayers, I have nearly finished the year of the prayers, and I can get through them now with less weeping, but the first two thirds of this year of the 15 prayers, I wept every time. I always keep a box of tissues next to me when I pray. It’s interesting to note that in the mass, I notice the time when I most often am struggling to hold back tears, is after everyone shakes hands and says peace be with you. I prefer masses with no music, as music at mass makes me so embarrassed with struggling to hold back tears. I often can not sing along, it makes me too emotional! I wonder what is wrong with me! I had a dream once where the words ‘Joyful Sorrow’ were prominent in a song I was hearing, that I have never heard in real life as I looked at an image of Christ. I think that sums up the tears. Feeling the presence of God, always makes me weep. I’m glad I am not the only one. Thinking of how Mary felt, alone, can make me weep.

God built into us our ability to feel emotions. Why wouldn’t we experience them during prayer? I sometimes get emotional when I hear a sermon or homily that particularly hits home with me, i.e., that addresses something I am personally going through. And quite often, it’s something I’ve been needing to hear, which tells me that God gets it, and that is, indeed, emotional for me.

Nothing wrong with experiencing our emotions. Passion is our sincerest expression, and God values sincerity.

I wonder what is wrong with me!
lol, nothing is wrong with you regarding this, and instead everything is right with you regarding this, imo. Why shouldn’t God bring us to tears? Of course He should.
