Hi. I’m a Faith Formation teacher for confirmation 1. I had a young student ask me if this bible verse meant that God didn’t like Gay people? What’s the best answer to this question?

Hi,

Leviticus doesn’t condemn people who have same sex attraction. But it does condemn having sexual relations between people of the same sex. Not everyone is called to marriage for a number of reasons, including illnesses of various kinds, certain physical abnormalities and also the inability to be attracted to members of the opposite sex. None of these personal crosses means that God does not love such people.

It simply means that one of the above mentioned, is the cross the Lord has called them to carry. We all have crosses which give us the opportunity to show our thanks to our Lord for the cross that He carried for us.
