FYI Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in San Francisco made a CD of the Panikhida called “Bright Sadness Orthodox Christian Rite of Burial” which if a wonderful CD! I received it as a gift. I’ve never been able to find another copy of it and highly recommend buying it if you ever see one. There is some Old Church Slavonic on it but mainly the text is sung in English. It is one of my favorite Eastern liturgical CDs.
Thanks for the answers! When I first heard the phrase, I thought it was talking about a person remembering other deceased persons forever, but that didn’t sound very comforting.
I liked what the one article said about how the good thief says “Jesus, remember me, when you come into your Kingdom.” That is one of my favorite passages of Scripture, and prayers. Thanks!
