I’ve mortally sinned and I know I need to go to confession (haven’t gone for almost 3 weeks), but what should I do before hand to at least show I have some form of repentance?

Ok. But now, how do I say it truly with repentance. I’ve said it many times before yet I still fall into sin

is that because you won’t avoid the source of the sin?

Sometimes I can avoid the object of the sin, other times it’s my mind that won’t leave me alone because it is so polluted

Even though you may subsequently commit the sin again, I don’t think that automatically means that you are not contrite. There are sins that it take a lot of time and a great deal of will to overcome. When we fall, we have to keep getting up again. Overcoming can be a process.

Then keep on saying you are sorry and want to be a different person .

As for still falling into sin , well , if your’e anything like me , there is only one event in your life that is going to stop that , and it’s death .

Pray a rosary. Examen of conscience. Act of contrition. Avoid near occasion of sin. Please don’t beat yourself up

Christ promised that we will never be tempted to sin where there is not also a way to escape the sin. Christ did not lie.

Stress.

Memories that one cannot shake.

Probably plenty of other things
