I was raised a catholic – raised my children as well – they have received all sacraments – as I have. My children are from a previous marriage. My first husband and I were married in a catholic ceremony. He adamantly refuses to an annulment. I have remarried to (seriously) my soul mate – not a catholic but respects my beliefs. My children have so overwhelming benefited from this relationship – we’ve been married for fifteen years. I miss the sacraments and want to return. I have not received communion in so many years that I feel totally empty. What are my options if my former spouse absolutely not agree to an annulment?

Hi,

Your husband doesn’t have to agree. He just has to be notified. See your priest about this. I wish you had asked this question a lot earlier.
