I think a Requiem Mass in and of itself can be strikingly beautiful.Funerals?
To remind myself that someday, I too must die:console:Funerals?
I agreeI like the High and Low TLM Masses. I like the High Mass because of the grandeur and incense, chant, etc. But I like the Low Mass because of the Leonine prayers. I do, however, think a reverently done Novus Ordo Mass can be just as reverent as a TLM if done properly. i.e. with chant or traditional hymns, incense, a little Latin, etc.
Most celebrations of the Ordinary Form are actually Low Masses, in that they are totally recited.I agreeBut I haven’t been to a Low Mass yet.
I think a Mass for the Dead is what the OP intended. How can people look forward to attending Funeral Masses? They’re beautiful but I don’t like to see people die to get one. Does that make sense?I think a Requiem Mass in and of itself can be strikingly beautiful.
I would love to!I am totally lost!! When I last went to Mass in the 1970’s, there was a Latin Mass and an English Mass. I can remember being excited about understanding what the priest was saying without having to follow it in my missal. On the other hand, I remember a sence of loss…all the latin, that a child could handle anyway, was of little use. When searching for answers I came across this forum and have learned many things…I am going to ask for one more favor—could you explain all of the Masses listed in the poll??
