Dear Fr.Serpa;
Code:
  I've read your answer about receiving Holy Communion twice in a day. When my husband mentioned this to our parish priest, our priest thought that receiving twice only pertains to Deacons, extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist not laypeople. He told us the words "participating in a Mass" means the functions a Deacon or extraordinary minister of the Eucharist would preform.
Is this true? What do you think?

Dear A,

Canon 917 of the Code of Canon Law states: “A person who has received the Most Holy Eucharist may receive it again on the same day only during the celebration of the Eucharist in which the person participates, with due regard for the prescription of canon 921, paragraph 2 (“Even if they have received Communion in the same day, those who are in danger of death are strongly urged to receive again.”).

Fr. Vincent Serpa, O.P.
