I have a question and don’t know which forum to post it.

Has Pope Francis made any remarks about the Catholic Answers ministry? Has he provided any feedback, good or bad?

Thanks

Hard to say for sure (unless Catholic Answers has received word from him).

If Pope Francis used the Internet a lot while Archbishop of Buenos Aries, then I would imagine he knows Catholic.com exists.

However, he doesn’t speak English and I don’t know if he can read English or not. Catholic Answers is an English speaking apologetics site, and American focused.

So it’s possible that he really doesn’t know enough about Catholic Answers to have a personal opinion. His opinion would most likely be based on the Bishop of San Diego and/or other American Bishops and the Nuncio.

As note:
Apologetics is less prominent in Latin America because most people are Catholic (even if lapsed) and its a Catholic Culture. On the other hand, English speaking nations are predominantly Protestant, therefore Apologetics has a larger role in explaining and defending the faith to evangelized non-Catholics.

While apologetics can be geared towards anyone, it is also mostly targeted to evangelized non-Catholics (mostly Protestants). While the New Evangelization is focused on Catholics and lapsed Catholics.

That’s not to say that historic Catholic nations don’t need faith building, but they mainly need Evangelization much more than apologetics.

Also as note: on more complex questions, Catholic Answers, does reach out to the USCCB and I believe sometimes the Vatican to make sure very complex responses to complex issues are in line with the magisterium.
