What does Satan do?

Hello again! I have a few questions concerning The Enemy.

Basically I want to know what he does to hunanity - how he tempts, what he tempts, if he even tempts, whatever else he does.

I mean, I know Satan is real, I just don’t know how to look out for his influence (if there is any, if so please say) or tricks so I can ward him off.

I was also planning on praying the Holy Rosary weekly.

Anyway, thanks in advance! 🙂

Angels are a different creature than we are. God created angels as highly intelligent, powerful, purely spiritual beings that have freedom of will. During the fall of the angels, St. Michael kicked out 1/3 of the angels along with satan, or lucifer, the former highest of angels. These beings have been given power from God naturally. Just as there is a hierarchy of angels in heaven, there is an opposite hierarchy in hell.

They are smart. We look like stupid rats or less in comparison to their intellect. What saves us from being easily taken advantage of is a combination of God’s Grace and our Guardian Angel. Without those two, it becomes relatively easy for the enemy to overcome us.

The Cross is the ultimate sign of defeat of the enemy.

Praise God for giving us the ability to resist our enemy. Praise him also for redeeming us.

He creates doubt, fear, worry and indecision and negative thoughts in our minds. Our negative thinking is from the devil. Don’t speak a negative thought, our words are powerful.

There’s lots of tv shows, advertisements, abortion clinics, etc that tempt people. One of his greatest temptations is to convince people that he DOESN’T exist. He has convinced people that unborn babies are just blobs of tissue rather than human beings. He also has people believing that Christians (especially Catholics) are “nut jobs” that should be marginalized to the fringes of society. Actually you should be reciting the Rosary DAILY. since that is a serious weapon against the devil and his influence. Also pray the prayer to St. Michael the Archangel and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. Also read God’s written Word since “ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ” according to St Jerome. You don’t have to read a lot of it but at least read some of it per day. Attend Mass as often as possible and receive the Eucharist. (I go daily in addition to Sunday.) You are also in good company on this website.👍

I might also add the idea that same sex marriage is okay, abortion is a “woman’s right to choose”, that it isn’t masculine to go to church, these are some more of his deceptions.

In my home town (Rockford, IL) the only abortion clinic in town was forced by the state of Illinois to close permanently citing health reasons. The devil has some people here believing that this is a tragedy since it eliminates one of womens’ “choices.” These “poor women” will just have to go elsewehere if they want an abortion (Boo-Hoo-Hoo!):rolleyes:

Oh yeah, speaking of abortion…If the OP wants to know what the enemy is like, go pray outside of an abortuary for a good hour a day for a week. You’ll see.
 
If Satan is doing some of these things, I have to ask why. To put it simply it seems to me that for a super-smart enemy he does not always seem to work in a very smart direction. Let me give you a few examples.
  1. If aborted babies go to heaven, as many seem to believe, WHY would Satan be pro-abortion? Now I have heard the whole “it is to upset God” but that makes no sense at all. He is working against his objective of bringing as many beings into hell as he can.
  2. Is Satan for or against the death penalty, gun control, capitalism and a government safety net? I am willing to bet that almost everybody thinks that Satan is against whatever side of these issues THEY fall on. I can also make very good arguments that Satan is working on being for or against either of them.
I also have to ask this even though I know it will offend many to even ask it: Why is Satan winning? What happened to God in all of this? So Satan is running around tempting us to do evil, but God does not tempt us to do good?

Who is aborting/killing the baby? The mother, father, grandmother, etc. along with the abortionist, the nurse(s), and the others who take part, such as the owner, receptionists, and death escorts. He’s not working against it. Also, these babies have a duty to God in life that they are to fulfill, and the ability to fulfill God’s plan is being taken away from them forcefully. They could have done a great deal of good while on earth, and brought a great deal of glory to God, and certainly helped to save souls. That opportunity and freedom of will was taken away from them. The devil takes great pleasure in doing this. He also loves to destroy innocence. It’s the most blatant manifestation of evil.

satan is for whatever will cause the most sin and cause the loss of the most souls. Wherever the opportunity presents itself, it is there like a wolf waiting.

He isn’t winning. God leads us to do good. That’s why we have grace and an angel at our sides. We choose to do good or evil. Really, satan has already lost, because Jesus has redeemed us. he is trying to drag as many souls through the mud and muck into hell before he no longer has the ability to tempt. he mocks God and he hates us because of God’s love for us. God is there as He always was. God allows the devil to tempt, but he always gives us the opportunity to choose Him. It’s like the good angel on one shoulder and the bad on the other.

God gave us the gift of the Holy Spirit whom we are too nuture and he is suppose to
help us in fighting off evil, the devil is no match against him, but we sometimes smother him so hes weak, and we loose the fight, so we need to feed him by praying and having faith.

What was ironic aboout this is that the State inspectors many of them were pro-choice. The clinic was closed down because it violated even the most basic of sanitary conditions, there was supposed to be a registered nurse on the premises during any procedure and there wasn’t. There were dirty shoes stored on top of sheets that were supposed to be sanitary and clean. So the state shut them down. Offered them the option of paying a $9000 fine so they could reopen or pay a $1000 fine and never reopen so the clinic took the $1000 fine and will not reopen! Who says God isn’t in charge even of the government?

I had heard about that one. I also heard there was blood on the walls that was never washed and the sinks had old blood.

There were lots of prayers in that case. I’m happy it’s closed. It’s not exactly the truth to say this is true everywhere, though. My gosh there are still some slimy ones, but I’m glad to say, a lot of them have been shutting down. Every one of them is dark door of hell.

The abortionists at the clinic that I counsel at both have bad records. Almost every abortionist I’ve ever come across has had a bad background, and this is their last resort, because they know most women are desperate enough to trust them even if they do come across the hidden pasts. For some reason, the enemy helps to keep their pasts hidden.

Would you like it if you had been aborted as an infant? Do you like the horrible condition the world is in presently? Anyone who is anti Catholic is bigoted. Does that discribe you? Might I ask what you mean by this? Ignorant of what? Bigotry? If this were a thread about gays, I might at least see where you are coming from with that, even though I would disagree. Who am I being a bigot TO in this case? Abortion doctors? Woman who kill their own children? Oh, I see, I should “understand” why they have to do this? No, I don’t understand, and I don’t agree.

Or are you trying to say that there is no Devil and we are all being silly talking about him? I might have a lot of questions as to HOW and WHY the Devil works the way he does, but I have no question about his existence, he is very real. I have seen his work in my life very clearly now that I am free of his snares. I am sure you think this silly, but he has you too…
 
According to Jesus, Satan is mostly a liar and a murderer. And it’s not bigotry to say so. 👍
