What does the Church teach about Burial at Sea?

What is the Church’s stance on burials at sea? I am not a seaman, although many of my family were in previous generations, and of the options available, burial at sea seems to me to be the most “appealing” (sorry, couldn’t think of a better word) whenever my time comes. Is it allowed in the ordinary run of things, or only in exceptional circumstances?
