What does the Church teach about female Eucharistic Ministers?

Yesterday a man from my church discussed with me a book titled The Book of Truth written by Maria Divine Mercy. I looked up the website (www.thewarningsecondcoming.com). I’ve also read some of the warnings and they are definitely worrisome. One of the warnings is the practice of women as Eucharistic ministers. In the past I was concerned about women as Eucharistic ministers, but it is so common place now that I haven’t been concerned with the practice. What is the Church’s teaching on the use of women as Eucharistic ministers and what is the Church’s stand regarding the “Book of Truth”?
