What does the Church teach about the Rapture and Second Coming?

What do Catholics believe about the Second Coming? I’m sure not falling for some of the popular teaching about a Rapture where Christ hovers in the air calling his people to Heaven but some of my Protestant friends are mesmorized by these ideas. Can you summarize in a couple of paragraphs?
