What does the rosary promise?

O God, whose only begotten son by his life death and resurrection has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant we beseech thee, that by meditating upon the mysteries of the most holy rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through Christ our Lord Amen.

What do the mysteries of the rosary promise? Are those the fifteen promises of the Virgin Mary to those who pray the rosary or does this refer to something else? God Bless.

The Promises of the Blessed Virgin apply primarily to those who recite her Rosary. There are also promises attached to the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. She also made specific Promises for the “graces necessary for salvation at the hour of death” in her apparition at Fatima. These are connected to the Five First Saturdays, which include: Confession, Mass, Communion, and spending 15 minutes with her in recitation of a part of the Rosary. The term “part” in the original Portuguese in which it was promised, meant five decades, which is 1/3 of the full Rosary of Fifteen Decades. Hope this answers your questions.
