I’d rather walk in the dark with God
Than go alone in the light;
I’d rather walk by faith with Him
Than go alone by sight.

My cousin posted this on fb status, the same time that my niece got her confirmation. My cousin is protestant and she did not acknowledge our niece’s confirmation.

is this cousin the mother of that particular niece?

or they could be totally unrelated events, it maybe has nothing to do with the confirmation at all. maybe she just liked the quote

It means that the author would rather depend on God for everything than depend upon his/her own abilities.

I would point out that God expects us to use our abilities, that’s why He gave them to us in the first place.

Why don’t you ask your cousin?
I second this. Jesus teaches us that if we have something against our brother to go first and try and reconcile with him (‘him’ meaning the person you are angry/hurt/ have a concern with- though if you are not reconciled with God first, you can’t be reconciled with your brother either). There is no way of us knowing what sort of perceived slight might or might not be there when they posted that. You need to discuss this with charity with your cousin… if you so wish. Maybe you could just let it go and pray for them instead? I would suggest if you find yourself angry about it, to pray very deeply and for a long time about it before confronting your cousin about it. You absolutely do not want to do that when anger/hurt is pipping at the door of your soul towards someone. Then would not be the time until you can understand the situation with and from God’s grace.
