…Just joined a new church (left the one we had joined a few months ago) and found out today, that they will be having a 9-Monday Novena series, leading up to Christmas Eve, which falls on a Monday, this year. I thought that was so neat! I have prayed novenas, but never ‘with’ a church community…so, I think I’d like to participate. Starts tomorrow night…

That sounds great:) Our parish stirs us up with buying presents for the needy kids—but I guess everyone’s does that. We have celebration of Las Posadas (a Mexican tradition), where it is like a novena, starting on Dec 16----it is a procession of candles and singing songs and praying the Litany of BVM—it is a reenactment of BVM and St. Joseph looking for lodging—and you end up at someone’s house (planned of course:D) and a party ensues! There is a Las Posadas committee, and they have costumes for the children in the processional play and make arrangements with people who agree to have the parties on each night.

At our parish, we have 9-Monday of St. Jude Novena!

St. Jude is awesome. 🙂

We have that too, Water—except on Tuesdays and there is even a Shrine of St.Jude here—I named my last child Jude, BTW because of his awesome intercession during my pregnancy:)

A shrine? that’s awesome! We don’t have a shrine but a human-sized statue of him. I hope to take picture of it tonight and share it with us on this thread. 🙂
