What exactly is a “visit”?

So my spiritual director made a plan for me for my winter break away at home, which is not as encouraging in my faith as where I live during the school year.
A part of the plan includes a “Visit to the Blessed Sacrament” - however when I asked my director she said that even just writing in my journal counts and spending time with Jesus. However, I am unclear if she meant that’s okay to do when I’m with the Blessed Sacrament, or just doing it at home “counts” because I’m still spending time with Jesus?
 
Spend like 15 minutes in front of the Eucharist during adoration or in church. During the school
year at my college (Catholic college), I go to the chapel there like 5+ times daily to be in the presence of Jesus, pray a rosary, divine mercy Chaplet, and also I run some ministry programs and pro life club in the chapel.

There is nothing wrong with going to adoration and writing in a journal about your thoughts and experiences! When I go to adoration I go for an hour and I lay on the ground prostrate for the entire hour infront of the Eucharist in a monstrance listening to church hymns. For me, this is how I experience the love and mercy of Jesus (and it’s actually one of the reasons I was finally able to be free from the slavery of sin to porn - thank Jesus!).

So yes, you may journal at home or at a chapel, really adoration is very much up to you on what you believe gets you closer to experiencing Jesus. I know a girl at college who takes her socks off, lays down on the ground, and journals for 20 minutes during adoration. She also prays with her hands outstretched and palms up. That’s what she thinks helps her get close to Jesus. Do what you think helps you!
 
It’s better to “visit” in the presence of the real Blessed Sacrament at a church, shrine or chapel. Many people will come a little early to Mass or, if the church is not going to be locked up right after Mass (for example, because there is another Mass in an hour), they stay after, in order to visit with Jesus, maybe pray a rosary or Divine Mercy or read some scripture and meditate on it in Jesus’ presence.

However, if you are not able to get to a Catholic church, shrine or chapel, or it is closed outside of Mass hours, you can visit with Jesus in your room and just make a little holy hour, or even a holy 15 minutes, there. It’s good to focus on a crucifix, statue of Jesus, or picture of Jesus when you do this.
