What Exactly is a "Mosque"?

If you think a mosque is just a place of worship as our churches, think again! As Hugh Fitzgerald states:

The noisy call to prayer is an act of dominance and aggression. The louder it is, the better. Mosques were always supposed to be built in high ground, or in the most imposing spot, towering over churches and synagogues, in the lands first conquered by Islam. Those aggressive skyward thrusting minarets were symbols of power, of dominance. And the same thing continued wherever Islam went.

Some fail to understand that the placement of mosques, the size of mosques, the significance of minarets, and those calls or cries, now electronically amplified, are all part of a single system. That system is one by which the mosque is not merely or mainly a place of worship, but a place of community gathering. It is a political and social center. It is even – in the Muslim lands – a place for shows of support or defiance against the government (the naming of the rulers in the khutba being a sign of loyalty, and the omission of those names a sign of disaffection), of plots and schemes. It is even – as we see even here and there in Europe – a place to store weapons, explosives, false papers in false ceilings – and a place from which to fire on Infidels (see Iraq, see all of Iraq).

**A mosque is NOT a Muslim “church.” It is a Muslim “church” and a Muslim “community center” and a Muslim “armory” and a Muslim “army recruiting center” and a Muslim everything. **The easy, and comforting, belief in the West that it is merely a “house of worship” is something that Infidels must disabuse themselves of – and they can best do this by reading, perhaps starting with Snouck Hurgronje and other great Orientalists, on the subject of “the mosque.”

Same line of stereotypical reasoning that says all parishes are sex clubs for pedophiles.

Before you start calling all our priests pedophiles, remember that Muhammad had sex with a 9 year old when he was in his fifties!

He didnt. He was being sarcastic. He was saying that you are accusing others based on hearsay.

Here is the thing. Churches have always had multiple uses. Yes, they are places of worship. They have also been used as learning centers, community centers, triage sites in times of disasters, and safe houses for those who need sactuary. The list goes on. Why should Mosques be any different.

But, there is a catch. Many people see folks preaching violence and hiding behind religion. They see plots hatched in Mosques causing death and distruction. They hear Muslims preach about peace and love and then talking about lying to preserve the faith or lying to ones enemies. They do not know what to beleive at all. Is it possible that mosques are being misused? Can it be that some are used for less than peaceful means? Yes, very much so.

Now, about the call to prayer. I will be very hard to deal with if a Mosque goes into my area and disturbs me with a loud call to prayer. I see the point that the calls are agressive as they are made for all to hear, even those who do not beleive.

If it is true maybe Mohammed molested by a priest when he was a boy and it started a pattern.

FoA it appears that Booklover mistook your first post for an attack, no need to continue this.

Booklover FoA didn’t say that priests are paedophiles.

I thought that it was a fact that Mohammed married Aisha when she was nine or so. Is that false?
Hadith are the product of Muslims who wanted to define the Quran and Islam according to their own wishes. I’ve been talking to some guy somewhere else who says this…

Matthew 19:12 For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother’s womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven’s sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

…means that people are born gay and Jesus approved of homosexuality. If this guy I’m talking to lived in the first century he could have written a Gospel with that interpretation and attributed it to Jesus.

Would you buy it?

So this is exactly what these Muslims with their own agendas did with Hadith. Obviously some Muslim thought it was cool to sleep with children so if he said Mohammed did it then it would be ok.

He married her when she was six and had sex with her when she was nine.

Of course. Some people say Mary was a little girl and God took advantage of her. I don’t believe them either.

Really? The noisy call to prayer and the ‘upward thrusting’ minarets are tools of dominance and aggression? I wonder what he’d have thought wandering through any European or European-colonised city as little as a century ago - what with all the ‘upward thrusting’ Church spires and all the Sunday church bells going full blast?

Even in this city on a Sunday I can hear numerous bells from churches of all Christian denominations, and locate them by the dominant church spires as well. 🤷

You asked a question so here is my answer. Go to jihadwatch and read Hughs posts. Hugh is not as important as learning how the jihad is being conducted worldwide. The site belongs to Robert Spencer, an expert voice in the war against jihad and a Catholic. He is a prolific author and expert on Islam. Make up your own mind how credible they are but you owe it to your family to become informed…in some way IMHO.

I think Hugh has seen quite a lot of Europe and has taken that into consideration. I would invite you to take a trip through any Islamic country and make note of all the “upward thrusting” Church spires you see. Just kidding, as you know as well as I that churches and Christians are not welcome or forbidden in Islamic countries. There are however a lot of mosques.in Europe…I think you get my drift.

You don’t have any shame do you…certainly no decency. Please keep up your posts as there are a lot of people here who haven’t been introduced to our dear muslim friends and their tender sentiments.😦

What’s wrong with me saying people lie about religious figures?
