Would you like to visit a Mosque Booklover? I’d be happy to try and arrange it for you so you can see what Muslims get up to.

Not that I am siding with anyone on this thread, but I think that there would be less threads like this if there was more transparency in the West by Muslims. If they would expell hatemongers from the Mosques and not allow them to recruit on the property. I know that there are very few terrorists recruited from Western countries versus Middle Eastern/Asain, but it would at least look like they are on the side of Peace.

Hi Ralphinal.

Trust me, Muslims in the West right now are desperate to be as transparent as possible so everyone can see that we’re not harbouring terrorists or anything like that. That’s why there are so many initiatives inviting non-Muslims to visit Mosques, observe prayer services, have a look around and just chat to the worshippers there; we really have nothing to hide.

And although I accept I’m not familiar with the situation in your country, in the UK and Europe at least there never really has been a problem terrorists recruting in Mosques (despite the occasional media frenzy implying that this is so). It really makes no sense for such people to go recruiting at a Mosque. The intelligence services have consistently reported that by far the biggest problem has came from universities and the internet.

Mosques can be used as safe houses for terrorists who would be protected under the guise of autonomy of religion. It does not help either in UK you’d find radical Muslims having their bases for operation in the mosques. They were supposed to be holy sanctuaries but being used for evil purposes. I think the way it happens as it does today make it difficult for you to defend the accusations against the mosques.

I think that there are a large number of Western Muslims who hold to an open position. I really do. I think that most of them would be appalled if they found out that their Mosque was used for anything other than religious purposes. It just happens every now and then that some junk gets traced back to a Mosque, and it all starts back up.

IN the US, the bigger problems are in prisons. As there are few, if any, controls for who can be a teacher of the Muslim faith, the prison system will take anyone with some credentials, like the ability to read Arabic or simply claiming that they are Muslims. These men may in fact be of the more violent type, but they claim freedom of religion to teach already violent men violent faith. Not all Muslim prison clerics are like this, but it is a noted problem.

Where I live you can’t even go hold an AA meeting in prison without a background check and security clearance. So I’m doubting it is as loose as you say.

The information was from a PBS special. The actual statements were from the Muslim cleric who is head of the Islamic ministry for the New York Prison Board.

He actually said they are teaching a violent faith?

What’s wrong with me saying people lie about religious figures?
Question:
A Christian colleague of mine asked me why the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) married ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) when she was nine years old and he was nearly sixty, and was he intimate with her at that age or what? In fact I do not know how to respond to that.

Answer:
Praise be to Allaah.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) married ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) after he married Sawdah bint Zam’ah (may Allaah be pleased with her). She – ‘Aa’ishah – was the only virgin whom he (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) married. And he consummated the marriage with her when she was nine years old.

No, he said that they had a difficult time finding someone to teach mainstream Islam and not a radicalized form of it, including the Nation of Islam type. He was not saying Islam is violent, but that if the only clerics he gets preach the radical type, what do the prisoners learn?

He wanted a system for screaning and training Muslims for prison ministry to prevent them from attracting the wrong sort.

What about the undercover expose of British mosques that showed that about 25% of them taught violence against the unbelievers?

What about it? Did they actually investigate every single mosque in the UK? How about the town halls that are converted on Fridays? Did they count them? Or the house mosques? It never fails to amaze me that while the British never fall for the scaremongering in their own country it can affect people on the other side of the world.

Revelation 17:3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.

The Whore (Jerusalem) would be allied with the Beast (Rome) in persecuting “the saints and . . . martyrs of Jesus.”

This may surprise you, but I’ve read those verses many times and I know what they mean. If you’d like to understand then either do some research yourself, or talk to me with less disrespect and I’ll gladly make an effort to explain them to you.

Okay, Kadaveri, please explain these verses to me. I must say, you’ve never been disrespectful of our faith, unlike some Muslims who post here, and that gives credit to you. I do want to apologize for a statement I made a while back, and for which I was reprimanded, regarding holiness and Islam. It was definitely uncalled for and uncharitable. I also apologize for any other disrespect I’ve shown you.

What Exactly is a “Mosque”?
Hi

To know as to what a Mosque is for, I quote from Quran:

The Holy Quran : Chapter 72: Al-Jinn

[72:17] And if the Meccan disbelievers keep to the right path, We shall, certainly, provide them with abundant water to drink,
[72:18] That We may try them thereby. And whoso turns away from the remembrance of his Lord - He will drive him into an over-whelmingly severe punishment.
[72:19] And all **places of worship ** ( Mosques) belong to Allah; so call not on anyone beside Allah.

Thanks

If you think a mosque is just a place of worship as our churches, think again! As Hugh Fitzgerald states:

The noisy call to prayer is an act of dominance and aggression. The louder it is, the better. Mosques were always supposed to be built in high ground, or in the most imposing spot, towering over churches and synagogues, in the lands first conquered by Islam. Those aggressive skyward thrusting minarets were symbols of power, of dominance. And the same thing continued wherever Islam went.

Some fail to understand that the placement of mosques, the size of mosques, the significance of minarets, and those calls or cries, now electronically amplified, are all part of a single system. That system is one by which the mosque is not merely or mainly a place of worship, but a place of community gathering. It is a political and social center. It is even – in the Muslim lands – a place for shows of support or defiance against the government (the naming of the rulers in the khutba being a sign of loyalty, and the omission of those names a sign of disaffection), of plots and schemes. It is even – as we see even here and there in Europe – a place to store weapons, explosives, false papers in false ceilings – and a place from which to fire on Infidels (see Iraq, see all of Iraq).

**A mosque is NOT a Muslim “church.” It is a Muslim “church” and a Muslim “community center” and a Muslim “armory” and a Muslim “army recruiting center” and a Muslim everything. **The easy, and comforting, belief in the West that it is merely a “house of worship” is something that Infidels must disabuse themselves of – and they can best do this by reading, perhaps starting with Snouck Hurgronje and other great Orientalists, on the subject of “the mosque.”

See the complete article here.

Vickie
Vickie have you ever been to a mosque???

Just one question though, the “noisy call to prayer”… how is that any different from church bells blaring every hour on the hour???

Last time I was at the masjid I didn’t notice any weapon storage areas or terror meetings going on… but then again, that’s not what’s supposed to be going on in the masjud, that’s not what the house of God is for.
