What exactly is Traditional Catholicism?

I agree. I think it is cultural. I just feel a lot more comfortable at TLM than the NO. Differences are vast, although people may not want to admit that.

I was Catholic before we divided ourselves into categories. Hard to believe there was a time when every one was just catholic, but such a time did indeed exist.

Traditionals are a reaction to the liberal overtaking of both the Council and the Church in the sixties. It could have been avoided (the evolving of the traditional movement) had the aftermath of VII been handled in a more sensitive manner. I will go so far as to say that ā€œtraditionalsā€ would even have accepted the new Mass had it not been hijacked by insanity.

Donā€™t make the mistake of thinking that things were in, say, 1966 the way things are today. It appears that the worst is long over and dying out. It took decades to achieve what we now have.

It didnā€™t start out that way but has become so in the past ten or more years.

In large part due to the Internet. It seems it amplifies the vocal minority of trads who do that sort of thing.
 
A Traditional Catholic is one that follows the true teachings of Christ, handed down to Peter.
Vatican 1 gave us the true Mass, Vatican 2 destroyed the true Mass with Masonic teachings.
Today many of the so called Bishops, Cardinals are of the Masonic order though they attempt to conceal that fact.
In 1962 John XXIII modernized the church then Paul VI further diminished the rubrics of the Mass.
I thank God I was born before the destruction of Vatican II in the 60ā€™s and knew when the table came into play replacing the Alter that there was something amiss. The priest no longer prayed to God he performed for an audience. Reverence went out the window and the dress code for Mass became a joke.
I left and found there were some Bishops who would continue the True Mass and still to this day I cannot understand Vatican II individuals who proclaim they are Catholic when they in fact are attending a Protestant church service.
The last TRUE POPE was Pope Pius XII, since the Vatican has become a joke.

We believe that the Catholic Church was founded by Jesus Christ and has been administered by the Apostles and their anointed priests under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, generation after generation.Due to human reasons there are more than one Rite of worship like, Latin (Roman), Armenian, Syrian, Syro Malankara etc etc spread all over the globe. All such Rites are Catholic and Apostolic and hold on all truths taught by Jesus and by traditions. Though the God, the faith, the dogmas are same , it has been colourful in different styles , taking into account local culture or language or ethnicity etc. So each group, though the fundamentals are same for the Universal Church, has its own traditions , mostly external signs. Whatever be, that is traditional Catholicism, followed by the believers around the world without detriment to any of the Universal Churchā€™s teachings.
