What fashions would you like to see go or stay out of style?

I’m probably going to get flamed for this, but:
  1. Uggs. (Especially Uggs with leggings and a tunic sweater. That 80s look needs to die.) At least here in Indiana Uggs make some sense with the weather being as cold as it is. I used to see girls in Mississippi wearing them all the time and it NEVER snows there.
DH and I joke that they’re called Uggs because that’s the first thing you say to yourself when you see them. “Ugggh!” 😛
  1. Crocs. Plastic shoes do not look good on anyone over the age of 2. Yes, I know they are comfortable. Yes, I know I’m going to get 200 posts from people who just LOVE their Crocs. But at the very least, can we not wear them in public? Wear 'em all you want in the house.
Confession: I wear leggings/yoga pants around the house. 😃 I know full well no one wants to see me in those out in public, but they ARE darn comfortable.

(Please, let’s keep this a fun thread and don’t take it personally if you wear something that someone doesn’t like this. I remember a “fashion thread” or two that went in a bad direction. We are not trying to be the fashion police or anything…don’t get mad!)

Uggs make NO sense in the hot desert southwest, yet I see them cuz they’re trendy. I can’t figure out why anyone WANTS to wear them when it is 116 degrees outside!

Gotta say, though, I love me some Crocs. Though when I get another pair, I will make sure to wear socks with them. There is just no way to get the smell of foot funk out of foam rubber. 😊

I AGREE 👍

It is just fun, and I know that if Stacey and Clinton showed up and looked in my closet, they would throw EVERYTHING away 🤷

Go:
Gladiator shoes on women - hideous
Sarah Palin glasses
Men expected to dress as a metrosexual
Crocs - never meant to be actually be worn around, they’re for running outside to get the newspaper or picking weeds.
Uggs - hideously ugly but comfortable.

Come back into fashion:
Hats for men I’m not talking baseball cap but back in the day when all men wore hats, real hats. Now you would just look like a weirdo wearing it.

Beards, beards are awesome I grow one every winter but if I ever have a job interview or something I shave it which stinks.

Oooooooh, I like this idea.

My daddy wears a hat everytime he leaves the house, but he’s 86
he looks pretty cute though.

I love my husbands beard:love:

Are those the fuzzy boots?
Yes…they have the fuzzy shearling in them…I was just looking at them on a website. They aren’t too pretty…but they look comfy and warm. They say the shearling acts like insulation, so they keep you warm in winter and cool up to 80 degrees.

I sort of like them…in a practical way, flat, warm boots.🙂

Stacey and Clinton would have a stroke in my closet. Especially as I am 13 months postpartum and my favorite tees are still my maternity ones. Now to be fair, they shrank A LOT (won’t buy JC Penney again) so they don’t look like maternity tees on me now, but still…

I like to see men in real hats. My father has a fedora which he wears to church in winter. Sadly he is one of the only men under age 70 that I have seen wearing one. I think it makes him look very distinguished. My DH wants a fedora too. He has a costumey Indiana Jones one but would like a real nice wool one. Unfortunately all the fedoras I have seen are really expensive!

I have to wear a form of Crocs to work. Picture Crocs without the holes because we’re required to wear shoes that are slip resistant. I hate wearing them because they’re so ugly and I don’t know how anyone wears them outside of work purposes.

SPANDEX:eek: It is just wrong!!!

Low riding pant! Please, I’m glad you have underwear on, but I don’t need to see it. Guess I should just be happy they are wearing underwear:eek:

Girls, young and not so young, that are a little on the heavy side, wearing shirts that are not big enough and everything is hanging out the bottom of the shirt. Only made worse by the wearing of low riding pants. It’s a scary world out there. Body parts just popping out everywhere:eek:

Tee-shirts with snotty sayings on them. My niece has one that says “your boyfriend is checking me out”. Very cute
:rotfl: I laughed hard on this post!

I concur!!! I wonder if some people lack mirrors in their homes.🤷

A style that should go out, is grown men…typically in 30’s, 40’s, 50’s…wearing their baseball caps backwards. My son who is 16 does this, and really…past your teen years, you look a little childish. Maybe that’s the point, though? lol

I don’t like when people dress MUCH younger than they are. What I mean by this, are women 35 yrs old and up dressing like they are teens. Nothing will date a woman or man MORE than dressing like you are not happy with your age. :o There is a difference between dressing sexy or attractive for one’s age, and dressing like you and your 14 yr old daughter share clothes. I just never liked that. I look younger than my age, but I’m not 17 anymore, and to dress like I am, I think, would embarass my kids. Just my two cents.

I will say that even though I’m 31 I find some sweaters that I really like in Delia’s. Does that count as not dressing my age?🙂

Depends on the sweater and how it fits on YOUR body. 😉

I like Delia’s too. lol

If one wants to dress youthful…there are classy ways to do it. That’s all.

Isn’t this thread about one’s opinions? It’s just my opinion.🙂

Oops, I admit it. . .I own a pair of those jeans with the low waist!

I plead innocence due to a disproportionate body. My waist is (or was, anyway) a size smaller than my hips, so the only jeans that fit me are the ones that don’t have a waist. I had to come to a slow and painful realization that you always wear longer shirts with them, but other than that, they always looked nice.

Now for those with muffin butt, there are still plenty of cute high-waisted jeans. . .just PLEASE stay out of the low-cut ones!

This coming from a one-month post-partum mom who now wears pregnancy jeans that I have to keep hitching up because they got a bit stretched during my 60-pound journey towards total uncoolness. . .Even if I ever fit into my old jeans again, I don’t think anyone wants to see the stretch marks if my shirt rides up. . .And I even turned 30 yesterday, so maybe it’s time to abandon my reckless youth and embark on that rite of passage known as buying your first pair of mom jeans. . .😃

LOL
I don’t see anything wrong with low rider jeans…if you have a body that works with those jeans…and they don’t appear immodest, etc…I don’t see anything wrong with them. My dd wears them, and I am always telling her to pull her pants up…😃

I love the bootcut jeans with the ones that ‘rest’ on your hips…not below your hips, but right on them…I think even moms can look amazingly cool in these.😉 👍 Cajun–just because you’re a mom…you can still look fabulous. :yup:
