Bluetooth headsets. Do people realize they look like they are ripe for the asylum when they walk down the street talking to themselves? I mean cell phones are probably the best thing to come along since…the wheel, but the headsets are too much. Really waaaay too much.

TOPS WITHOUT SLEEVES!!! Hello where did all the sleeves go? It’s COLD here and I can’t find a decent sleeved blouse to save my life. Why is it so ‘in’ not to have any sleeves on your shirt ladies??

Speaking of writing on the behind, how about writing right across the breasts. What is with that??? Read my breasts, please!. Yuck.

Clothes in general with brand names on them. I won’t buy them. Why would I pay $40 bucks for a shirt that makes me into a walking billboard for some company with overpriced clothes?

birkenstocks. nuff said.

scarves as an accessory. It’s just old. If it’s not cold and you’re not outside, you don’t need a scarf.

I’m against the uber low ride jeans myself, BUT how about jeans that sit at your true waist? Those are comfortable and flattering, no matter your size. Just at the bottom of your belly button is where your waist is, above and you look like you are wearing a diaper. high waisted jeans don’t cover anything…ever seen a man with a big beer belly and his pants pulled waaaaay up over it? Yeah, not flattering! It only accentuates the problem.

Biggest fashion peeve, parents who let their girls walk around looking like a playboy bunny.

Trends that I like…

The belted shirt dress, WITH SLEEVES, to the knee, with knee boots.

Trench coats and pea coats.

Wrap dresses.

Wide leg pants.

Oh and those slouchy boots from the 80’s are BACK! I love those.😃 ( but of course they only look right with ‘skinny’ jeans which 99% of people can’t pull off including me)

I can’t believe I’m still in a thread about fashion, but… :o

Those “gangsta” pants that are so low, and so baggy, you want the kids to walk around your floors a few times to save you from sweeping. Plus there’s boxers showing.

The other thing that needs to go is “ties.” What are these things? Just a flap of material to what end? I take credit for getting my company to go business casual. 😃

HAHAHAHA This thread is funny!

shanny…we share similiar tastes. Although the bluetooth headsets…I mean, if you want to multitask, those are good…and safe for when driving in the car. I don’t own this, as I really hate using cell phones when driving…but just saying. I think they are good for driving.

But, there are some people who never remove them. I see some men at mass at times, wearing these…and I think to myself…is he expecting a call from God? lol:D

You know, it’s funny you mention these. :o My son’s highschool is very strict, with their dress code…and they will send a kid home who is wearing this ‘look.’ My son will wear them on the weekends, and yes the boxers are showing. In a weird way, they look ok…if they are not too baggy, but I don’t want his boxers showing.😊

sorry but I don’t like the whole skirt and pants thing…Nor the really long shorts, I love capris but long shorts are like uhm… I mean short short shorts yeah that’s wrong too… :hypno:

 I can’t agree with you on the slouchy boots being back is good. I hated them in the 80’s. Just personal taste though I guess!!!

Lol. Actually I think it’s more of a nostalgia thing for me, because I’ve never actually worn them, because in the 80’s I was too young to, and my mother would have said they looked too much like something Madonna would wear…she would have never bought them for me. Come to think of it, I don’t see me buying them for myself either…so why do I like them?🤷

Go:
Come back into fashion:
Hats for men I’m not talking baseball cap but back in the day when all men wore hats, real hats. Now you would just look like a weirdo wearing it.

Beards, beards are awesome I grow one every winter but if I ever have a job interview or something I shave it which stinks.
I agree, I love cool hats for men. 🙂

As far as things I wish would go OUT of style…Those big Wilma Flintstone necklaces and those itty-bitty shrugs or half-size cardigans on women. I’m sure if I gave it some more thought I could make a whole long list of tacky fashions that need to go lol.

LOL I love the bootcut jeans with the ones that ‘rest’ on your hips…not below your hips, but right on them…I think even moms can look amazingly cool in these.😉 👍 Cajun–just because you’re a mom…you can still look fabulous. :yup:
I love boot-cut jeans too!

And thanks for the encouragement! All I need to do now is figure out how to fix my hair with a baby in one rm. . .and move to a less humid climate so I won’t have to defrizz anymore. . .and lose all this weight. . .in the middle of Christmas season. . .😃

Now that I think about it, shorts in general are just annoying and generally unattractive imo.

I’m probably going to get flamed for this, but:
  1. Crocs. Plastic shoes do not look good on anyone over the age of 2. Yes, I know they are comfortable. Yes, I know I’m going to get 200 posts from people who just LOVE their Crocs. But at the very least, can we not wear them in public? Wear 'em all you want in the house.
Have you seen the website where they destroy crocs? I haven’t checked it out in a long time, but they had them in a blender.

I have to say that I love the lower ride pants for women. Not the ones that show off your business, but the ones that don’t go all the way up to your skinny parts. My waist is about 12 inches smaller than my hips. 😦 If I wear trousers that go all the way to my skinny part, that also fit my hips, I look like I’m wearing clown pants. I look SO much better with the styles that sit on my hips (not below them), and don’t squeeze out muffins. 😉

There are SO many body types on women, and finding trousers that FIT is one of the most frustrating things for most of us. I think it’s a good thing that there are a lot of options out now so we have better changes of finding something that works.

But I must agree - anything TOO low, TOO tight, or TOO high is never good on anyone.

Cajun Girl - your name reminded me of another one, by no fault of your own (SORRY!!!)

Although I HATE HATE HATE the T-shirts that the staff at Cajun restaurants such as Joe’s Crab Shack & Landry’s wear!!! They are horribly offensive!!!

A few more I would like to see go:

-Toe rings
-Body piercings
-Men in sandals or flip flops, menfeet are disgusting and no one should be forced to view them out in the open.
-Those huge furry trapper hats I see people wearing
-tight jeans on men, I mean really tight this is more of a teenager thing but I see it on the subways all the time, it’s disturbing.
-Men with highlights
-People over 25 who shop at Abercrombie, American Eagle, Hollister, etc…Look around you, if you’re the oldest person in there by a decade quietly exit and never come back.
-Those hideous collagen implants people get in thier lips

On the cell phone note.

I think wearing your blue tooth headset all the time, even when nt in use just makes you look like a dork with a plastic Cockroach stuck to your ear.

I agree with the OP…no one, NO ONE should ever have the word Juicy written across their butt.

Also if we can see your underwear that’s bad, and if we look ar your outfit and wonder …how are they wearing underwear under that…that’s bad too.

Trends I like,

I live out west so I like a cowboy in and nice pair of wranglers.
I like the suggestion of hats on men again. My husband has a fedora he wears for special occasions, I think it’s totally sexy on him.

I’ve seen high-waisted jeans in a trendy teen shop recently:

You think they would help hide a little bit of the postpartum tummy? I thought about trying on a pair or two when I go clothes shopping with my husband.

It would be great if these were the new rage.
Ugh, no, no it wouldn’t be great. I’m 5 feet tall and short waisted. I don’t like extreme low-riders, but the mid-rise jeans hit at a comfortable spot on my torso and cover all underpants. Normal- or high-waist jeans cut into my ribs when I sit down. NOT fun. Plus, they’re really unflattering on most women.

I would also love to see these things go away:
  • Pajama pants and slippers in public
  • Pants with writing on the backside
  • Shirts that are at least two sizes too small (yes, you have breasts. How nice for you. How nice that we can also see every flesh bulge on your torso)
  • Those really short skirts that look more like wide belts
  • Leggings worn as pants (no extra butt cover), especially with Ugg boots
  • Ugg boots if the wearer cannot take the trouble to walk properly in them (at least daily I hear someone in the hall behind me making a “schlump, schlump” sound as they walk and I know without turning around that it’s a girl in Ugg boots who can’t be bothered to pick up her feet while walking)
  • Spike-heeled shoes (I swear, I went shopping with a friend the other day, and all I could find in the stores we checked were stiletto heels or Ugg-style boots)
  • Okay, I just really dislike Ugg boots. I’m sure they’re comfortable, but they’re ugly, they make even girls with toothpick legs look like her calves are roughly the size of those found on a small elephant, and why does every single female under the age of 25 on my campus spend the entire school year wearing them? (Although, considering my recent shopping trip, perhaps they don’t have other options.)

The practice for flashing gang sign for pictures needs to stop!!!
Thank you.
It’s hilarious when a group photo shows a huddle with half hte people flashing signs – four or five different ones. So we’re to think they’re in gangs but thye’re in several different ones and they’re friends?

WOW a lot of people are against Ugg boots!!! I don’t have any and would never buy any, I guess I never really thought about them too much unless I see someone on TV in LA in the summer wearing them and then I have to wonder about them.

Although, talking about Ugg boots, made me think of when I was younger (I am really dating myself here) remember Moon Boots??? There were just as ugly, although they were SOOOO warm in the winter, well at least until they sprang a leak, then they were worthless.

One fashion I kind of like the look of although don’t get is the puffy vests. I just don’t get vests I guess because if it is cold out my hands and arms are going to get cold first, so why do I want to leave them out???

I love western wear on both men and women. I don’t think it’s been in style (outside of certain circles) since the mid to late 80’s.

OK, you got me. I launched the pajama thing around here in the early '80’s. In 1986 it was getting to be more acceptable. By 1993 no one cared anymore.
I did it because my pj’s were my prettiest things. 🤷 I’m guessing someone thought the same way in one town after another.
