and the horrible fluro fashion ← thats finally fazed out!! thank god!

Stay…

  1. *]definitely hats on men
*]mats of women for mass and going out dressed up
    *]“Fitted” pants on men
    *]high waisted pants for women
*]Holiday dresses that don’t look like slutwear… I mean really… Has anyone seen a nice deep red or forest green velvet dress with either lace or plaid holiday print bottom dresses in the last decade? I miss dresses… try going to a store and finding a real live dress that isn’t meant for a “club” scene.
    *]Long sleeved dresses… dressy…
    *]slips and other indergarments
    Go…

    1. *]stretchy jeans
      *]ubber low rise pants
*]short tops that you can’t tuck in
      *]fuzzy slippers in public
      *]baggy oversized pants on boys
*]girls clothing with 69’s on them or other unflattering things written on them… sexy, princess, etc…
*]South Pole overly ornate writing on clothes… just give me a plain shirt and jeans!!!
*]short sleeved sweaters… really what is the purpose?
*]mini-wedding dresses… cause that just screams “For better or worse”
*]shorty jackets… what is the use???
OK end of rant… well for now anyway

BlestOne, short-sleeved sweaters are for people like me with short arms who get sick of feeling dowdy because the sleeves of everything are always too long (just like they were in the bad old days when it didn’t matter how foolish something made you look, your mother was convinced you’d grow into it … except it always wore out first) and tired of trying to keep them up inside the sleeves of jackets and suit coats!

  1. Our campus is called The Hill. Ladies, you have only a certain amount of time to get between classes. Trying to go downhill in 4 inch stilettoes is not wise. Can you say broken ankle?
LOL!! :rotfl:
It’s funny because this morning when we went to mass, my little sister was wearing high-heels and she really couldn’t run around much. XD

Honestly, if those things were in RPGs it’ll be like.

I would like to see kilts become more popular with men. I wear kilts at anytime I am not at work. Most folks that see me all the time are suprised when I am not wearing one. If they become more popular the price may go down. I have 17 kilts & 5 pair of black jeans.
You know what they say about Scotsmen and their kilts don’t you?

Hmmm;)

And now you will remember it for the rest of your life!
I was scanning thru this thread and saw posters mention jeans, hats, bags, crocs, and I was waiting… I was even planning to post about the fashion of women displaying their private parts (you know, BOOBS). I was going to pretend that this was the best thing since sliced bread and how I love to display my… I would have caused a riot! Ugh? Maybe not - I don’t know. This world is so crazy. People get away with the most outrageous!

At last I see someone mention how unsightly this “fashion” is - actually a couple of postings or so back someone did mention that women looked like hookers.

When I see this it makes me wonder about the person. I notice even TV presenters are showing a peep of their *****!! I have seen women with HUGE ones go to communion. The other day I just had to say something because had she moved just slightly the nipple would be right in your face!

Are we going mad? Do we have to be dictated to by fashion? Are we slaves to so-called “fashion”?

I sound like an old spoil sport but let’s be honest it shames us women to be on display like that. My husband would send me back to change my outfit. In fact a woman positioned herself quite close to him and “they” couldn’t be more on display and my husband took a look at her and said with a smile, “No, thank you”.

Cheers ladies

Alright! Another gamer on the board!

I thought of another fashion I would love to see come back… and I am so gonna get flamed for this…
corsets… yes I said corsets… the real ones with boning… I had one fitted on me back in July and let me tell you… it felt so good on my back! All these years of pain and back surgery… and it felt so good… and it looked good too… of course providing you wear it properly and with a shirt under it…

Well, I love…
scarves - all kinds in all weather except the skinny long, metro-looking scarves on guys, that they wear “euro-style” and are always made of some rayon-type material.

Long skirts with body to them.

flat-heeled tall boots, not the fuzzy Ugg ones.

big jewerly, toe rings, and nose-studs…

hats on everyone

beards on men

courdory and denim

cowboy boots

…and I hate…

sweat pants, sweat shirts

jumpers

polyester anything

leggins

shapeless dresses (so many people have mentioned this, I wish I could just go into a store and find a beautiful dress, why don’t they make them anymore)

all the eighties fashions coming back…I see so many kids wearing clothes I remember hating twenty years ago!

But Blest, I have to agree with you. Corsets, worn well, look fantastic, and they make what’s worn over them look classier and more put-together. I’d love to see them back.

I used to make fun of my husband’s grandfather and great uncle about their polyester pants, well not directly to them, but you know what I mean. I used to say, don’t light a match around Pap and Uncle Leonard, they’ll go up like a candle. Well, a couple of years ago, Uncle Leonard was burning stuff outside and got to close to the fire. The leg of his pants caught fire and MELTED onto his leg! Polyester is just a bad, bad thing!

lenni,

What is fluro fashion?

Those of you who like nice dresses might want to hang out at thrift shops. I am too cheap to consider buying themed clothing that I can only wear during the holidays, but I just scored a long black pinwale corduroy dress with a snowy village scene for $3! Some stuff is castoff for a very good reason 🙂 but sometimes rich people just want to weed things out of their closets.

I was reminded yesterday that I hate do-rags, except on people who are doing messy work and actually need to cover their hair.

LOL too funny.

I like some of the low-rise jeans. 🤷 Not the crazy low ones, but I DO NOT like having stuff around my waist. Ugh. I like my pants and skirts right at my hips, below my waist. Pants/skirts at the waist accentuate the “mummy tummy” pouch that a lot of women have. Plus, My waist is little but I have pretty good childbearing hips…if I tried to fit BOTH it would never work.

I love that layering shirts has been in for awhile…and I LOVE the Bermuda shorts in summer…paired with heels…I love it.

I definitely wish it was more fashionable for men to wear hats. DH wears Kangols and I love it.

So they call it fluoro now. I kind of missed it for the last 24-odd years. Of course, when a fashion goes retro it’s exaggerated, adn to exagerate the “neon look” as it was in the early-mid-'80’s would hurt the eyes. It was in its turn an exaggerated version of the '60’s Da-Glo style, which was hard on the eyes too. So in the 2020’s sometime it may come back in a form that will be literally blinding and people will have to wear eye protectors outdoors I assume.
