What form/use/rite Mass do you attend?

I attend the OF in the vernacular at my parish.

There are no other forms/rites/etc. convenient to where I live, so I never attend anything else. Which is fine, I’m happy with the Masses I go too.

Maybe they checked the box if it has even a small amount of Latin in the Mass. I’m just guessing though.

That said, I didn’t see a box for Spanish or Polish or other languages. I read “vernacular” or translation to mean only English on CA.
 
Just for clarification, the Latin OF I attend is all in Latin except for the readings. 🙂
 
Clarification - by vernacular, I mean any language 😃

Also, I might soon be able to click the Anglican Use selection – there are a LOT of ordinariate-bound Anglicans which might swim the tibre, and if so, I am definitely going to attend at LEAST one.

For most of the fall and winter my traitorous body hasn’t been able to go to Mass, which would be in the OF, Franciscan usage. I watch the EWTN mass regularly and always on Sundays and days of obligation or occasionally I spiritually join the online Office and Mass of the Redemptoristine Nuns of Dublin, Ireland. rednuns.com/webcam/

In the perfect world, I would attend the EF Sunday mass, but the nearest one is very far and for me it is essentially on the far side of Mars. I would resume daily mass at the nearest location, which would essentially a low OF.

When I absolutely can not make it to Sunday Mass a former Brother of mine brings me Holy Eucharist. I am very blessed that I also have a chapel in my home which to say the Office, do the mass readings, and for prayer and contemplation (I am NOT speaking of Adoration) . Sometimes if I really do want to actually go to mass, I need some industrial pain killers and they do have a considerable effect on limiting my spiritual experience and the next day or two will mean that I’ll be stuck in bed or limited to the most necessarily activities.

I will be content that I have been asked to accept my illness and this involves missing with regularity the Mass and life of the Church, although some days… 😃

I don’t think this is an appropriate venue at all. This is a simple poll. The OP also made clear he or she did not want this thread to become drama. (Okay so I’m paraphrasing, but anyway…).

Maybe you want to start a new thread?

The OP did use the accurate label, and then in parentheses used that awful, terrible, Novus Ordo label for posters who may not be familiar with the term “Ordinary Form.”

Sheesh.
 
I go to, at least some of the time, * four* of the choices listed… why not have an option for “more than one”?

To suggest that someone actually reading this forum knows what “novus ordo” stands for an not the “Ordinary Form of the Mass” just doesn’t ring true in my opinion. It’s an inflammatory label.

I think this has already been discussed on the forums at length, but “Novus Ordo” is not inflammatory, if that’s what you were saying, since it’s right there in the title of the mass itself as it was promulgated by Paul VI. It obviously just means “New Order” of mass, which is what it was… to me, it’s like saying “the latest edition.”

I am not getting into the politics of EF vs OF here, by the way. And I go to both forms.

It is not an inflammatory label at all. A parish in the neighboring city that celebrates the OF in Latin calls it the Novus Ordo. I highly doubt they are attempting to incite disdain for the very Mass they themselves are celebrating.

And it is very likely that there are posters here that recognize the term Novus Ordo and not Ordinary Form. I have never once heard anyone use the term “Ordinary Form” outside of this forum. The only term I have heard used in the real world is “Novus Ordo.” I suspect there are indeed new members of this forum who have had a similar experience.

The OP used the proper term (Ordinary Form) and then placed terms that may be more familiar to other posters in parentheses (Novus Ordo, vernacular). There is absolutely nothing derogatory or inflammatory about it. You are reading into the OP that which is not there.

My last word on the topic.
 
“Novus ordo” is a inflammatory label, particularly after Pope Benedict XVI asked us to refer to the two forms of the Mass as the “Ordinary Form” and the “Extraordinary Form.” The suggestion that people will recognize “novus ordo” and not "Ordinary Form of the Mass here in AD 2012 simply does not ring true.

Weekly TLM. Sometimes a daily TLM as well.

Lol, who knew Pope Paul VI was being so insensitive when he said “Novus Ordo promulgates est…”. 😦
 
Mostly the OF. For a while I was assisting in (ie, attending) the daily EF at my EF/OF parish, but almost always now for weekdays and Sundays, the OF.

I love my EF/OF parish because the pastor, who offers about 99% of the Masses there, offers the OF in about as close a way to the EF as one can get. He omits Vatican 2 era add-ins like the Presentation of the Gifts and the Sign of Peace. There is also an altar rail that we use for Communion, and there are no Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. It’s really wonderful to be able to kneel at the altar and receive the Eucharist from a priest (as opposed to a layperson), who is being assisted by an altar server (usually an adult man) holding a paten. There is usually at least one hymn in Latin.

I’ve also attended some Anglican Use Masses and they are beautiful.
