Does God speak to us today? Does he speak to us through the Bible?

The Bible is a collection of old writings by several authors over a span of many centuries, originally addressed to the Jews or the early Christians. Why should we put our confidence in this old book? Is it still relevant to us today?

The Lord Jesus gave us a good insight on the value of the Scriptures. During a debate with the Sadducees (who denied the resurrection), Jesus said, ‘But about the resurrection of the dead – have you not read what God said to you, “I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?” He is not the God of the dead but of the living’ (Matt 22:31, 32).

Let us focus on the very significant phrase, ‘Have you not read what God said to you?’

Is this Joe Mizzi from “justforcatholics.org”?

Thank God for the bible. And thank God for leaving us with an authority to deterimine what constitutes the bible.

Whether or not this is the Joe Mizzi, the whole post proved nothing, and it was a word for word copy and paste from Mizzis site, which violates forum rules. Catholics believe God is the author of Scripture, the post proves?

Mizzi has a narrow view of the teachings of the Catholic Church. Sounds like Protestant Sola Scriptura to me.

Joe Mizzi has been around here for a while. 🤷 I wonder if he will actually engage us in a dialog or is this just a way for him to get his latest blurb out to us poor lost Catholics.

What’s funny about Mizzi’s site is that most of his anticatholicism material is not his work, and even when he does his own work he largely relies on other Protestant apologist cites them. I’ve seen an article before on his site that quotes a Catholic answers article, but failed to cite it or even acknowledge it was said by catholic answers which does put a copyright on their pages, however Mizzi requires people to cite material people take from his site! HA!
