The Bible… or at least significant portions of it.

Catholics really should try reading it more often and with a lot more diligence… and then they might actually start believing in what it says.

I would also suggest that they begin with the Ten Commandments because every one of those commandments, save the Sabbath, can also be found in the Qur’an.

The Bible does not say anything regarding Islam. Christians are not Muslims. Get it?

Mannyfit75, i have not read any books on Islam from a Catholic perspective, but i have read books on Islam from Muslim authors. Unfortunately, they were not as enlightening as i expected.

I did a search and found this:
[Islam: A Catholic Perspective (http://shop.catholic.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online-store/scstore/p-CB274.html?E+scstore)
"This new booklet provides a concise overview of Islam – and evaluates their history and beliefs from a Christian point of view. Using a balanced approach, this booklet gives Islam credit for its good points, without papering over the negatives. Some of the topics covered include:
  • What is Islam and how did it start?
  • What do Muslims believe?
  • How do Muslims practice their religion?
  • How does the Qur’an compare with the Bible?
Also included are some useful hints on sharing the Christian Gospel with your Muslim friends and acquaintances."
Hope this helps. 🙂

Ugh…I can’t remember the name of it; but it was written by Fr. Mitch Pacwa.

Hi (name removed by moderator),

Its not his words, he is stating what is written in Quran & Hadith.

(Quran 98:6):
"Those who reject (Truth), among the People of the Book and among the Polytheists, will be in Hell-fire, to dwell therein (for aye). They are the worst of creatures. "

(Quran 09:73):
O Prophet! strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell, an evil refuge indeed.

(Quran 72:23):
Unless I proclaim what I receive from Allah and His Messages: for any that disobey Allah and His Messenger, for them is Hell: they shall dwell therein forever.

(Quran 22:72):
When Our Clear Signs are rehearsed to them, thou wilt notice a denial on the faces of the Unbelievers! They nearly attack with violence those who rehearse Our Signs to them. Say, "Shall I tell you of something (far) worse than these Signs? It is the Fire (of Hell)! Allah has promised it to the Unbelievers! And evil is that destination!

(Quran 57:15):
This Day shall no ransom be accepted of you, nor of those who rejected Allah; your abode is the Fire: that is the proper place to claim you: and an evil refuge it is!

(Quran 64:10):
“*But those who reject Faith and treat Our Signs as falsehoods, they will be Companions of the Fire, to dwell therein for aye: and evil is that Goal. *”

(Quran 67:06):
“*For those who reject their Lord (and Cherisher) is the Penalty of Hell: and evil is (such) destination. *”

(Quran 04:56):
"Those who reject Our Signs, We shall soon cast into the Fire; as often as their skins are roasted through, We shall change them for fresh skins, that they may taste the Penalty: for Allah is Exalted in Power, Wise. "

Muslim, Book 001, Number 0398:
Anas reported: Verily, a person said: Messenger of Allah, where is my father? He said: (He) is in the Fire. When he turned away, he (the Holy Prophet) called him and said: Verily my father and your father are in the Fire.
(E) (A)

Muslim, Book 004, Number 2129:
Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger, (may peace be upon him) as saying: I sought permission to beg forgiveness for my mother, but He did not grant it to me. I sought permission from Him to visit her grave, and He granted it (permission) to me.
(E) (A)

Muslim, Book 001, Number 0284:
It is narrated on the authority of Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed: By Him in Whose hand is the life of Muhammad, he who amongst the community of Jews or Christians hears about me, but does not affirm his belief in that with which I have been sent and dies in this state (of disbelief), he shall be but one of the denizens of Hell-Fire.
(E) (A)

Muslim, Book 001, Number 0167:
It is narrated on the authority of Abdullah b. Mas’ud that Waki told (him) that the Messenger of Allah had observed and Ibn Numair asserted: I heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) saying: He who dies associating anything with Allah would enter the Fire (of Hell). 'Abdullah b. Mas’ud said: I say that he who died without associating anything with Allah entered Paradise.”

Oh you have just lied, breaking one of the ten commandments, which i will remind you, lying is allowed in Islam, so count that out of your quran.
Also there is orders in the quran to kill non believers, so take that out.
You worship other Gods, you deny Jesus, therefore you are denying the true God, so take that one out as well.
Well you worship a big black rock as well, so that is making an idol, throw that one out as well…
You admitted you dont keep the sabbath, so that is a mistake in Islam you actually admitted, well done Hammy! 👍
Honour your mother and father, well ill give you guys this one, there is honour for parents from what i have seen… After all, Muhammads son honoured him when he allowed him to marry his wife. 😉
Do not commit adultery, well, oh my, you can really throw this rule out in islam, adultery is happening all the time! By marrying multiple wives, divorcing when you want to, this is all adulterous acts.
Do not steal… well old Mo did steal parts out of the bible to write his made up religion, so i guess you can throw this one out as well…
Do not covet… WELL Muhammad broke this rule so many times, ive lost count, he wanted his son’s wife, he wanted a 9 year old, need i go on?
I hope this points out that the quran CLEARLY only follows 2 rules out of the 10 commandments.
