inJESUS:
am not insulting his god coz allah to me = mohammad; and yes i have the right to expose false prophets.Besides, i was expressing an idea, i was not insulting. And as Jesus said : lukewarm people make him throw up coz either you are with him or agaisnt him. As a buddist , all are equal to you…but as a Christian, i have the right to defend the heresies agaisnt my God, just as the apostles used to do…you believe in humanity, i believe in God and i have the right to expose anyone who says he comes from the same God yet insults both Him and his teachings. So being politically correct does not work here, sorry.
When you say that allah (lowercase) must have done something wrong and question the omnipotence of Allah it can be very insulting. I’ve seen posts call Islam evil, a plague and other things. That’s fine to have opinions, but charity is expected on the forums - from both sides of the Atlantic. You are free to expose what you believe to be false teachings, but to question the intentions or character of Allah or anyone else is uncharitable.

You pretend that as a Buddhist all is equal. That is not true. But, I respect Allah, Yahweh and God even if I don’t agree with them or believe them. This isn’t about being PC here. There’s a lot of anger and frustration going on right now.

No one should insult Jesus, Mohammed, Allah, God, Buddha, Krishna, etc. Disagreement is expected, charity from any side is key to understanding and peaceful debate/negotiation.

Peace…

How many of these people knew Mohammad? Lots of great people have said a lot of things I don’t believe.

I was thinking about the list the OP gave to us and I was wondering why a list of “great” people exulting Mohammed can not be provided any later than Michael Hart who commented in 1978, 28 years ago? Interesting…

charity towards muslims yes, of course; charity towards islam? of course not. And muslims here know that we have no bad feelings for them; its about Islam, not muslims. If muslims expect us to accept Islam, then we should be all muslims now; so when muslims come to a Catholic forum, they already expect us to say islam is false.

why should i respect an anti-christian teachings? to respect islam, is to respect all the wrong teachings about Jesus given by allah, which is an insult to Jesus; this has nothing to do with respecting muslims. Am either with Jesus or agaisnt him…so obviously am with Jesus agaisnt the heretical teachings of mohammad.

if mohammad didnt claim to continue Jesus,or to be sent by the same God, i wouldnt even have bothered read his teachings…but when he claims to know Jesus’ teachings yet insult him, then i will insult his teachings as well…u do not expect me to respect teachings labled satanic in my Bible, do you? yet it has nothing to do with muslims so cool down 😉

StMarkEofE:
It would seem to me that any “preparations” for His Son has gone by the wayside as witnessed in Islam’s 1.5 billion adherants.

The Greeks had many altars to various gods, which included an altar to the “invisible God”.

An earlier Egyptian pharoh did claim a single diety.

My argument is that Christ is the completion of our redemption and no other claiming divinity of any type after Him can be wholesome nor be believed for one’s salvation.

Agreed - that doesn’t mean He had been preached in Arabia, whether at all or much

God’s purpose was through the Incarnation not Muhammed. Lets face it Muhammed was familiar with Hebrew and Christian texts before he started writing the Quran.

Up to a point - there may be more room for interpreting Koranic texts about Jesus, the Crucifixion, and much more, in ways which could break the impasse between believers on both sides.

There was no Arabic NT in Mohammed’s time, though there were Christians: he mentions the martyrs of Najran somewhere; and the (historically dubious) “Seven Sleepers of Ephesus”.

Which is not to forget the old bishoprics such as Bostra (= Bozrah ?).

If Mohammed did not know the true faith regarding certain matters, he can hardly be said to have rejected it. ##
So, the Quran can be said to be a mishmash an hybrid of both texts interlaced with personal socalled revelations and opinions.

Georger Bernard Shaw was a rather ascerbic individual who was very much an “anti-Chrisitian” not the person I would pick to quote from.

Say what you want about any religion, Jesus is the Truth, the Life and the Way. God only however, knows every man’s heart, and I do believe that whatever the religion or faith, the God of Mercy will reveal Himself at one time or another to every man, irregardless of religion or faith, and many will be saved. I consider myself blessed that He has revealed Himself to me, and all Christians should feel likewise, and pray for our less fortunae brothers and sister that they may one day know the God of all creations like us Christians do. But hate dwells in Christians and non Christians hearts, so I say beware that you may not miss salvation because of the true essence of your heart.

Peace of Christ be with you
