What happened to my four questions?

Perhaps I did not post my questions properly. The dates posted starting two Sundays ago, Jan. 31st - Feb 2nd. My questions were about receiving communion from a Basilian Priest at a cloistered convent, when else during mass is the sign of the cross appropriate, my local Cathedral’s requirement to sing “Amazing Grace” before of after Latin Mass and finally about kneeling during Mass in the U.S. as opposed to in Europe
and the signifigance if any of remaining standing. Were my questions in any way inappropriate or objectionable?

Hi,

There is nothing inappropriate with your questions. You must understand that due to the volume of questions we get every day, we are not able to answer them all.

I can’t find your original questions. So I will do the best I can with what you have written here. The universal rubric for the Roman rite is that the faithful are to kneel for the consecration. However, the American bishops have ruled that in the United States the faithful are to kneel until after the Great Amen. So in other countries they stand right after the consecration.

While “Amazing Grace “ is not theologically correct, the singing of it in a Catholic Cathedral is not really a cause for scandal. Believe me, this is not a ‘biggy’ these days.

The other two questions are too incomplete to answer. Sorry.
