What happened to the profession of faith?

During Advent, the Profession of Faith (nicene creed) is replaced with the Apostles creed and the Gloria is omitted.
In the Philippines the Nicene Creed is not used at any Mass, not even on Sundays.
Only the Apostles Creed is used here.

The GIRM only requires the Creed to be said. It does not specify which one.

Neither the Apostle’s Creed nor the Nicene Creed were said. However, after reading your responses, I figured out why. On Sunday, all of the new and renewing EMHC’s were commissioned and the priest talked about that and gave a blessing. Since this was at a 9 am mass, and there is another mass at 11, he probably left it out to save time and make sure everyone was able to exit in time for the new mass to arrive and get settled. 👍

Thanks!

The creed was probably omitted because the priest considered the commissioning of the EMHCs to be a kind of Profession of Faith.

I have no idea if there is an actual published commissioning rite (whether for EMHCs or any other function) that allows for the omission of the creed.
