…the thread that was on here yesterday asking supporters of the NO to defend it? Where’d it go???

Bye bye, apparently. Someone must have seriously stepped over the line.

on one hand, i’m glad there’s a little more peace in the forums

on the other, i still wish some of these who belittle the NO/OF would be put in their place

i’m sure there’s a right way to do that

And what place is that?
that they, like the rest of us lay people, are beneath the hierarchy of the Church. that if the Bishops decree a practice or a form of mass is acceptable, none of us has the authority or the right to say one is better than the other

what i’m getting from this forum is that some of the Traditionalists here think they’re better than the Pope or the other Bishops

Choy, you may not have noticed but this is a section for traditional Catholics. What that means is that those who post here prefer the EF to the OF and traditional practices and ways of viewing things in the Church.

I rarely venture off of this section. Why should I hop around agitating others? I don’t agree with 90% of what is posted on CA. But I don’t flit from section to section seeking to impose my own views and bias on others.

If we irk you, then let us be and go elsewhere. Does it bother you so that we have a corner of CAF all to ourselves?

probably removed due to redundancy. what need is there on a Catholic forum to defend the Mass of the Catholic Church?

i know that this is a Traditionalist forum. i’m not pushing for OF here nor am i berating them for wanting TLM or other Traditional practices. the problem with SOME of the posters here is they mislead people into thinking that OF masses and the practices associated with it are inferior, disrespectful and sometimes outright evil. that is what i am complaining about here

i am not imposing my bias on others. what i’m trying to do is stop them from imposing their bias on everyone else. i have never told anyone not to go to a TLM mass, i have never stated i want TLM masses gone, no, never. i go with whatever the Church says, if both EF and OF are valid, then who am i to say one is greater than the other? the problem here is a lot of people are making statements that one is greater than the other. and the fact is, they don’t have the right and the authority to do that. and what it creates is a division within the Church

because sadly there are people here who claim OF or NO is inferior or even an invalid mass

you’re right, it doesn’t need to be defended. any mass that the Church says is valid, is valid. we should believe what the Church says. its just sad some people would bring misinformation for the sake of promoting their personal agendas and preferences

I don’t see that everyone here or even most are denying that the OF is invalid. What I see is that many point out that some OF Masses have had innovations added to them.

If one is honest they must see this at many Masses. I go to a OF Mass that is very reverant and don’t have a problem with it. I probably feel more comfortable attending it than if I were to go to a EF, but I also have been to parishes where if I didn’t know better I would think I was in some kind of protestant church.

I realize that most Catholics today have no idea of what a OF Mass is like when following the GIRM.

I am traditional in the way I view the liturgy if a person thinks that a church should show respect for the Blessed Sacrament. That bringing in protestant traditions do not attract protestants, since some parishes have taken many of their traditions and added them to the liturgy.

When the new translation comes into being, are you and others going to object and complain? We will see. I have already seen this attitude on posts. People don’t like change, even if it is for the best.

I agree that there are some who only want the EF, but there are others who defend the clown liturgies and even worse innovations. If the Church decides to go back to only the EF would you be happy and would you accept it? Think about whether you are as charitable as you want others to be towards your preferences.

If I had my choice the Anglican Use liturgy would be my preference, but I wouldn’t expect everyone to agree. I want a liturgy than brings me closer to our Lord and I suppose we each have our own feelings on what way that is. We will have to wait and see where Rome decides what is appropriate for the Churches liturgy. Whether we like it or not there are some Bishops and priests who have disobeyed Rome and continue to do so.

I see that the Church has changed in the way they handle clergy who have ignored what the Church has said regarding the liturgy, It has not held firm and this is what has caused confusion among the people.

people who challenge church teaching to the point of rejecting it completely belong on non-Catholic religions, not here, this is the forum for people faithful to the Church and her traditions

i never claimed that everyone is. that is why on some of my posts, i will all-caps the word SOME

usually the small groups with the agenda are the loudest. i do recognize that a great majority of Traditional Catholics are respectful and faithful to the Church

whatever the Church approves, I will accept. if they say we all go back to purely TLM, i will accept it gladly. what i cannot accept is some [self censoring] on the internet making that decree when the Church herself says otherwise

i actually want to go to Eastern Rite Churches and experience the mass there. it should happen soon. i want to experience the beautiful diversity of God’s people, how we all in our own way would celebrate the Supper of our Lord
