Hello,
I was recently asked by a co-worker what “our version” was regarding William Tyndall being burned at the stake for translating the bible into English. She went further to say that her understanding was that he was executed by the church for translating the bible into English. I know he translated the bible from the latin vulgate into English and I am also aware that he professed many heresy’s about the faith. I know it gets tricky as to when someone as found guilty of heresy they were released to the state and they executed the punishment. Please give me the current understanding of what really happened.
Thank you,
Brett
